The Powder Shop began in June 2006 in Mount Vernon, IA with 3 employees. Since that time, we have grown. In Nov 2016, we purchased our largest competitor – Rainbow Paint and Blast. We now employ 20 employees. Our main focus is industrial metal grit blasting and powder coating. With the acquisition of Rainbow we now have the capabilities of sandblasting, industrial painting, ceramic high temp coating, and expanded capacity for our powder coating line.
We believe that the preparation of the items is the most important step in the process. We do not take short cuts when it comes to preparing the items to be powder coated, painted, or ceramic coated. We strive to be our customer’s preferred vendor through service, quality, and price. We believe that by educating our customers, they will understand the process better and choose us because of our knowledge and integrity.
